Our Team members are comprised of both experienced and young bunch of adventure enthusiasts. Senior members of the team have more than 30 years of experience in Sikkim and other Himalayan regions. The younger generation is working hard and learning the required skills to be the best among the best.

Most of our team members are local and have the best available knowledge of Sikkim trekking and other Himalayan regions. Our Guide, Cooks, and ground staff are well trained in their respective fields. All of our ground supporting staff are well trained and experienced in trekking in Sikkim and other Himalayan regions!

Founder Member

ANG SHERAP SHERPA
A fellow Instructor of the pioneer Mountaineering Institute – Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling INDIA, Ang Sherap Sherpa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Darjeeling Government College. He began his pursuit of Adventure at the age of 16 while studying at the St. Roberts School, Darjeeling. Since then he had embarked on innumerable Expedition and Journeys throughout the Indian Himalayas. Being an Instructor to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, he had led and taught many mountaineering enthusiasts and students to achieve perfection to survive in the high Mountain of Sikkim and other Himalayan regions.

Some of the peaks he had in his belts are FREY PEAK, SIMVO, BIDHAN PEAK, RHENOK PEAK, and many more. All of those peaks are 6000m and above. Apart from scaling the summit of the mountains and peaks in Sikkim and other Himalayan regions, what satisfies him most is that many of his students who have learned under him have scaled many of the highest mountains of Sikkim and the world including the mighty Mt. Everest, Mt. K2, Mt. Kanchendzonga, Mt. Lhotse, etc in the recent times Ang Sherap Sherpa is the second son of a renowned mountaineer Lt. DA NAMGYAL SHERPA, who was the member of the first successful Everest expedition team of 1953 and was the expedition partner of the then Expedition leader Sir JOHN HUNT.

Ang Sherap is a passionate Sherpa and a real mountaineer. His passion and love for the mountain and adventure are within his blood and that has made him keep moving with his never-ending relation with mountains and Himalayas even after his retirement from the Institute. Nowadays he works along with his son Mingma in their home office and runs a family travel and tourism business. He can sleep with ease in tents or in a comfortable hotel room. He is a passionate sports person and loves to play and watch all sports. He works tirelessly for his clients and their satisfaction is his ultimate goal.

He can occasionally be spotted in his terraced field with his wife, if not working in his office with his son. He is a perfectly loyal and charming husband. He is a husband to a beautiful wife DAWA PHUTI and a proud father of son Mingma and daughter Namgyal Sherpa.

Ang Sherap Sherpa’s passion for promoting Sikkim as leading trekking and travel destination has fueled him to establish his own company Mountain Tours and Travels in the year 1991.

LT.PASSANG NAMGYAL SHERPA
An elder brother to Ang Sherap Sherpa and a senior and a retired Instructor of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Passang Namgyal Sherpa was a passionate and experienced mountain Instructor and climber. He was regarded as one of the best hard working and charming senior Instructors of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute who had all the knowledge in the world. He had scaled numerous peaks and mountains in Sikkim and other regions of the Indian Himalayas, which includes KAMET, FREY PEAK, BIDHAN PEAK, SIMVO, AND RENOCK PEAK. He also had a brilliant attempt at Mt. Everest in Nepal and Mt. Kanchendzonga in Sikkim during his best days. He is one of the Inspirations and support behind the establishment of the Company.

MINGMA TSHERING SHERPA
A master’s degree holder in History (Hons) and a Bachelor’s degree holder in Tourism from the North Bengal University, Mingma is the only son of Ang Sherap Sherpa. A passionate and enthusiastic adventurer, photographer, and mountaineer in Sikkim who had numerous trekking and tour experience in Sikkim and other regions of Indian Himalayas. He is the main person behind all the official and field works of Mountain Tours and Treks in Sikkim.

With over 25 years of experience in organizing and leading treks in Sikkim, Mingma has gained a wealth of knowledge about every region and trail, such as the detailed route information, the requirements for hiking and trekking safely, the local traditions, culture, and heritage. Over the years, Mingma has guided no less than hundreds of popular trekking trails such as Goechala Kanchendzonga Trek, Green Lake Trek, Dzongri Trek, Uttarey Singalila Trek, Yambong Singalla Trek, Kasturi Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek, and many others in all Himalayan regions. Likewise, he has also led a group of climbers to many successful peaks Climbings.

Mingma is always working relentlessly and providing his best to ensure that all his clients’ journeys are safe and enjoyable. His utmost professionalism, resourcefulness, and good interpersonal skills have earned him a high reputation and respect amongst his clients, his team members, and business partners.
