Bird watching in Darjeeling

Darjeeling region is rich in birdlife. The forest here is semi-evergreen temperate forest in the lower region to Alpine forest in higher altitude which all provides the best habitat for the varieties of bird’s life. The area is a hotspot for biodiversity and is one of the important ecological areas of India. Some of the species found here are as follow:

Satyr Tragopan, Scarlet Finch, Red-headed Trogon, Red-faced Liochichla, Long-tailed Broadbill, Gold Naped Finch, Crimson Breasted Woodpecker, Rusty Bellied Shortwing, Bay Woodpecker, Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Black Baza, Yellow Throated Fulvetta, Sultan Tit, Asian Barred Owlet, Blue-fronted Robin, Great Hornbill, etc.

we have quite a good number of trips for the bird lover in Darjeeling. Some of our trips are combined and customized for a better experience with the inclusion of nearby birds’ hotspots such a Sikkim, Lava, and Neora valley.
