Paragliding in Sikkim has gained huge popularity within a short period and is fast emerging as a paragliding hotspot in India. This aero-sport filled with thrill and adventure has become one of the best ways to explore the sheer natural beauty of Sikkim from a bird’s eye view.

The two best-certified locations in Sikkim for Tandem Paragliding are BULIMAN DARA and BULBULAY DARA both of which lands at RESHITHANG VILLAGE. Both take-off point is located at Reshithang Village near Gangtok in East Sikkim. In the west part of Sikkim, Tandem Paragliding can be done at CHAKUNG DURPINEY DARA which lands at Jorethang playground, and PELLING SANGACHOLING GUMPA DARA which lands at Tikjak village. Namchi in South Sikkim has also come up with a good take-off point recently.

There are two types of flights available MEDIUM FLY and HIGH FLY. The medium fly goes up to 1500m at the highest and takes 5 to 8 minutes and the High fly goes up to 2200m and takes 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

The best time to do paragliding is either in Summer or Autumn in Sikkim. Mid-April to May and Mid-September to mid-November.

1. Is there any specific age limit for paragliding in Sikkim?
As long as you are physically and mentally fit you can undertake and enjoy paragliding in Sikkim. There is no specific age restriction however we will recommend it for children age 12 years and above and elders as old as 60 to 75 years old.

2. What to wear while paragliding in Sikkim?
You can wear sportswear or any good casual clothes. A good pair of comfortable sports shoes or sneakers are a must. Wearing sunglasses is a must to enjoy the views

3. Is there a weight limit to paragliding?
Yes, the weight limit for paragliding in Sikkim is 120 kg at the maximum.

4. How much does paragliding cost in Sikkim?
The medium flight will cost you 2500 INR to 3500 INR, and the high flight will cost you 4500 INR to 7000 INR while paragliding in Sikkim.

5. Is there a possibility of a Female pilot?
Yes, there is a possibility however since we have less number of female pilots available you need to request that in advance. The booking to the female pilot depends on availability. 

Other Important Information:

  • Clients have to reach the location for paragliding at 10:00 a.m.
  • Himalayan weather condition is unpredictable so weather matters on the day of the fly.
  • The client has to fill up a form after that we take clients for fly in our vehicle.
  • We don’t allow clients who are recently been operated on, pregnant women, cardiac patients, spinal cord problems, mentally unstable & intoxicated.
  • Wearing high heels, saree, skirt, slippers are not recommended
