Weather and Temperature on Sikkim Darjeeling Kanchendzonga Trek

There is two seasons to do the Sikkim Darjeeling Trek and other high altitude Treks in Sikkim, Spring, and Autumn. The weather condition in the Himalayan region of Sikkim is extremely unpredictable and can change within hours and days in all seasons. We give lots of attention to the weather forecasts and changing weather conditions however we cannot guarantee the sun, snowfall, and rains.

While undertaking the Sikkim Darjeeling Trek and other high altitude treks in Sikkim you should be prepared for all weather conditions.

The Temperature on the Trek largely depends on the weather condition of each day. The average temperature during the Sikkim Darjeeling Trek will be as follow:

* Spring (Mid-March, April till May)
Darjeeling to Maneybhanjyang / Yuksam to Tshoka
Morning and Evening – 12 to 16 degrees centigrade
Day time – 18 to 24 degrees centigrade
Late Evening and Mid Night – 8 to 14 degrees centigrade

Tonglu, Tumling to Kali Pokhari and above / Phedhang to Dzongri and above
Morning and Evening – 4 to 12 degrees centigrade
Day time – 12 to 18 degrees centigrade
Late Evening and Mid Night – minus 10 to 4 degrees centigrade

* Autumn (Mid-September, October till November)
Darjeeling to Maneybhanjyang / Yuksam to Tshoka
Morning and Evening – 8 to 14 degrees centigrade
Day time – 16 to 21 degrees centigrade
Late Evening and Mid Night – 2 to 10 degrees centigrade

Tonglu, Tumling to Kali Pokhari and above / Phedang to Tshoka and above
Morning and Evening – minus 8 to 10 degrees centigrade
Day time – 2 to 14 degrees centigrade
Late Evening and Mid Night – minus 15 to 2 degrees centigrade
